V-20 / Plumbing leads

Plumbing leads that don't ring three other shops

Most bought plumbing leads are a race: the same homeowner, several plumbers, whoever calls first. SEO builds the other kind of lead: the homeowner who finds your listing and calls you, and only you.

V-21 / Four sources

Four ways a plumbing lead reaches you

Each has a place. Here is how they compare on the things that decide whether a lead turns into a booked job.

Shared leads

A homeowner fills out a form on a lead site. The lead is sold to several plumbers at once.

Good:
Fast to start. Fills a slow week.
Catch:
You race other shops to the phone, the homeowner gets several calls, and you pay whether you book the job or not.

Exclusive leads

Same idea, but the vendor promises the lead goes to you alone, often within a window of time.

Good:
No race for that lead.
Catch:
Higher price per lead, minimums and refund rules that need reading closely. "Exclusive" can mean exclusive for a few hours.

Pay-per-call

You pay for each inbound call over a set length, routed from ads or directories the vendor runs.

Good:
You only pay for calls, not form fills.
Catch:
Wrong numbers, price shoppers and out-of-area calls still count if they pass the time limit. The customer meets the vendor's brand first.

Your own calls

The homeowner finds your listing or your page on Google and calls your number.

Good:
Nobody else gets the lead. No per-lead fee. The customer finds your name and reviews, so the next call is direct.
Catch:
Takes months to build, not days, and depends on how crowded your market is.
V-22 / The math

Cost per booked job is the only number that matters

Price per lead tells you very little. A cheap lead you never book is the most expensive one you'll buy.

Worked example, made-up numbers

Say you spend $1,800 in a month on shared leads and book 9 jobs from them. That is $200 per booked job.

Say you are on a $235 a month SEO plan and, a few months in, your own listing and pages bring 6 booked jobs that month. That is about $39 per booked job, and it doesn't reset to zero when you stop paying, because the rankings stay for a while.

Your numbers will be different, and SEO takes months before the second line exists. Track both for a quarter and the answer is usually obvious.

V-23 / What we build

How SEO turns into calls you don't share

The same work described across this site, aimed at one outcome: more of the calls in your area coming to your number.

  1. 01

Map Pack for the urgent work

Profile, reviews and citations so you show for "emergency plumber", "drain cleaning" and "water heater repair" near you.

  2. 02

    Pages for the planned work

Water heater replacement, sewer lines, repiping, leak detection: one page each, written to answer what the homeowner asks before calling.

  3. 03

    Links that lift both

Guest posts and Web 2.0 posts in the amounts on your plan, each one listed with its live URL in your report.

  4. 04

    A site that converts

A visible phone number and a short form on every page, so a search turns into a call instead of a back button.

"I had worked with different SEO providers for a decade and never thought I would find one that lived up to its promises. A friend recommended this team. The reports were detailed and I could actually understand them, and every time I had a question I got an answer within a day. The results did not come overnight, but when they did they were exactly as predicted: steady keyword growth, higher rankings and, most importantly, more calls from customers."

V-26 / Questions

Plumbing lead questions

How the whole system fits together: plumbing SEO explained.

How much do plumbing leads cost?

It depends on the vendor, the job type and your market, and prices change, so get current quotes in writing. The number that matters is not the price per lead but the cost per booked job: what you spent on leads in a month divided by the jobs you actually booked from them. Run the same math on any marketing you pay for.

How do I get leads for my plumbing business without paying per lead?

Get into the Map Pack for your main services, rank a page for each high-ticket job, ask every customer for a review and make your site easy to call from a phone. Nextdoor recommendations and repeat customers on maintenance plans help too. These build slower than bought leads but you don't pay for each one.

Are exclusive plumbing leads worth it?

Sometimes, for a shop with spare capacity and a fast-answering office. Read the contract: how long the exclusivity lasts, the refund policy for bad leads, minimum spend and who owns the customer data. Then track the cost per booked job for a couple of months before deciding.

Do you sell plumbing leads?

No. We do SEO: the work that makes homeowners find your own listing and pages and call you directly. Nobody else gets the call, and there is no per-lead fee. If you need volume this week, a lead vendor or ads will be faster; SEO is what lets you rely on them less over time.

Should I stop buying leads when I start SEO?

Not on day one. Keep whatever books jobs profitably while your rankings build over the first months, then compare the cost per booked job from each source and cut the weakest. Most owners taper bought leads gradually rather than switching overnight.

Shutoff / Next step

Find out how many calls in your area aren't reaching you.

Tell us your website and the towns your trucks cover. By the next business day you will have a short written checkup: where you sit on the map for your main services, how your listing and site stack up against the shops ranked above you, and what we would fix first. It costs nothing and nobody will call you.
